The decision to participate in therapy can be daunting and it is important to find a therapist that fits for you and your family.
Michelle A. Hernandez established Psychmiami, LLC in 2014, a private practice dedicated to helping children and families with mental health and life issues. Michelle is a seasoned therapist that offers over 20 years of experience obtained in community mental health and private practice settings.
After working for almost ten years in a children’s advocacy center in Miami, she decided to begin a private practice to better serve a range of clients. Michelle has a vast experience ranging from a lock down juvenile justice facility to a psychiatric crisis unit and also has experience treating substance abuse and trauma. She works primarily with women and children and is an advocate for both. The focus of her clinical career has been trauma and she has specialized training to include Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy obtained from the University of South Carolina.
She also has specialized training, obtained from the University of Oklahoma, in treating children that are experiencing sexual behavior problems. She has participated in Spanish radio tackling issues related to children and parenting and has been licensed in the state of Florida since 2011.
In my practice I find that families have varying types of needs and therefore offer on-site services as well as office hours, with a wide range of days and times available. This affords me the opportunity to understand a child and family in their environment. There are also several options for adult clients. I strongly believe that therapy needs to be evidenced based and individually tailored in order to be effective
Insurance is not accepted, however Psychmiami offers a range of payment options and packages.
